HSK, 汉语水平考试 (Hànyǔshuǐpíngkǎoshì), the Chinese language proficiency test, previously consisted of 6 levels. With the introduction of the new system, 3 additional levels have been added, bringing the total number of levels to 9. These new levels have also affected the original 6, resulting in a reorganization of the vocabulary and structures to be learned at each level. Below is a chart illustrating the new HSK.
