A Tesla Cybertruck caught fire outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning. A person inside died and some people nearby got hurt. The police are looking to see if it could be a terrorist attack, but they haven’t found a reason yet. Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the truck came to the hotel and then there was a big explosion. After parking, it caught fire, and smaller explosions happened.

McMahill said one person died in the Cybertruck, and seven people had small injuries.

Elon Musk, the CEO of the company, said on X, “The whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter right now. We’ve never seen anything like this”. Musk, who supported Trump in the November election and was named by the Republican to lead a commission to reduce government spending, promised to share more information as soon as they learn anything.

President Joe Biden knows about the explosion and offered help from the government if needed, as the White House said. Biden also briefed about another attack in New Orleans where a car hit people and ten died.

While McMahill mentioned the New Orleans attack, he did not directly connect the two incidents but assured that Las Vegas authorities are taking all of the precautions needed to keep our community safe.

On Wednesday morning, a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, causing a fire that killed one person inside and injured several bystanders. Local officials are investigating the incident as a possible terrorist attack, though no motive has been determined yet.

The electric truck arrived at the hotel’s entrance before a “large explosion” occurred, according to Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill. After parking, the truck burst into flames, followed by smaller explosions that resembled fireworks.

McMahill said there was one deceased individual inside the Cybertruck, while seven people received minor injuries.

President Joe Biden has been informed of the explosion and has offered federal assistance if needed, according to the White House. Biden was also briefed on a separate car-ramming attack in New Orleans that killed at least ten people on the same day.
